Sketches of Young's Park, showing proposed Peace Trail and Circle

Above: Layout of the Park, showing lawn, beach, and forested area, and the proposed location of trail and stone circle.

Below: Close up view of layout of stone circle, including central peace rock.

Below is drawing of peace rock, with engraved words ("Peace" in Spanish, Japanese, and Russian)

This drawing also shows proposed words engraved on the existing central stone in the circle, and three proposed trail markers.

(the Samish word for Peace is éy7-et-eng)

These carved pieces have not been done, and may not be included in the project at all, but the sketches show some ideas of what could be done in a project like this.  The Peace Rock, in the center of the circle, is a focal point for meditation or conversation, for anyone sitting in the circle.  The trail markers would indicate the beginning, middle, and end of the Peace Trail, which goes from the north west corner of the park, through the trees, and ends at the Peace Circle.
